Your 45 minute timer is ready
The timer is already set to 45 minutes. Press Start and the countdown begins: the digits, the progress bar and the tab title all show the time left. When it reaches zero, the sound rings until you stop it. Forty-five minutes matches a typical class period, a solid study session and many oven recipes.
What a 45 minute timer is good for
- Class period: Many schools use periods of about 45 to 50 minutes. Project the countdown in full screen.
- Practice exam: Time one section exactly as it will be on test day.
- Deep work: A 45-minute block followed by a 15-minute break is a popular rhythm.
- Lasagna: Many recipes bake for about 45 minutes, partly covered with foil.
- Baked potatoes: Medium potatoes bake at 400°F in about 45 to 60 minutes.
- Bread dough: A second rise often takes 45 minutes to an hour.
- Gym session: Warm-up, main lifts and a cooldown.
- Music practice: Many music lessons last 30 to 45 minutes. Practice at home for the same length.
- Shorter meetings: Booking 45 minutes instead of an hour leaves time to breathe between calls.
45 minutes in seconds, and what fits in them
45 minutes is 2,700 seconds, three quarters of an hour. A soccer match is played in two halves of 45 minutes each, plus stoppage time added by the referee.
A tip for your 45 minutes
For an exam, do not pause the timer: real conditions are the best practice. For baking, check a few minutes early, because ovens vary. In class, show the time with the full screen clock during breaks and switch back to the countdown for tests. For shorter blocks, try the 30 minute timer; for a full hour, the 60 minute timer.
How to use the 45 minute timer
- Press Start. The countdown runs from 45 minutes down to zero.
- Pick a sound if you like. Turn the list to hear a bell, a chime, a classic beep, a digital beep or a gentle rise.
- Switch tabs freely. The countdown follows your device clock and stays exact. Keep this tab open to hear the sound.
- Stop the sound at zero, or tap +1 min if you need a little longer.
Need another length? Turn the minute wheel, or tap the digits and type the time on the keypad. The online timer also has presets for cooking, sport and relaxing, and a full screen mode that makes the countdown readable from across the room.
