How it works

  1. Make the widget

Set the countdown, clock or timer above and pick the colors.

  2. Copy the code or the link

Code for your site for the code field, or Link for Notion for the website address field.

  3. Add Embed HTML

In the Wix Editor: Add Elements, Embed Code, Embed HTML. Paste and apply.

Any suggestions for improvement?

We build tools that are as simple and intuitive as possible, with a few bonuses here and there. Tell us what would make this one better.

Step by step in the Wix Editor

  1. Click Add Elements on the left of the editor.
  2. Click Embed Code, then Embed HTML. A box appears on the page.
  3. Click the box, then Enter Code, and paste the code from this page. You can also choose the website address option and paste the link from Link for Notion.
  4. Click Apply, then drag the corners of the box to the size you want.
  5. Publish the site.

Size and mobile

Wix shows the embed in a box whose size you set in the editor, and the widget fills it: make the box wide and not too tall for a countdown, square for a clock with hands. Check the mobile view of the editor too, where the box can be resized separately. Wix only displays embeds served over HTTPS, which is the case for the widget.

A countdown for a Wix event page

For an event, set the countdown to your own time zone, so it reaches zero at the start time wherever the visitor is, and write a message for zero such as “Tickets are on sale!”. The credit link under the widget is optional: if you paste the website address instead of the code, there is no link at all.

Several clocks side by side

For a row of clocks (head office, warehouse, customer service), make one widget per city and add one Embed HTML element for each. Line them up in a strip or in columns, give them the same size, and pick the same colors so they read as one block.

Questions

The box shows nothing in the editor. Is that normal?

Embeds sometimes appear only in preview or on the published site. Click Preview at the top of the editor to see the widget running.

Do I need a premium Wix plan?

The Embed HTML element is available in the Wix Editor. Check your plan if Wix asks you to upgrade, but the widget itself is free.

Can I put the widget in the header of every page?

Yes. Add the Embed HTML element to the header, which is shared by all pages, instead of the page body.
