St. John Eudes, August 19
A priest from Normandy, John Eudes (1601-1680) preached more than a hundred missions and nursed plague victims. He founded the Congregation of Jesus and Mary to train priests, and an order to shelter women in distress. He promoted devotion to the hearts of Jesus and Mary.
