St. Ivo of Kermartin, May 19
A priest and church judge in Tréguier, Brittany, Ivo (1253-1303) defended the poor in court for free and refused bribes. He is the patron of lawyers. A folk song calls him a lawyer but not a thief, a thing “to make people marvel.”
May 19 has no celebration on the General Roman Calendar, so this page follows the Roman Martyrology, which remembers Saint Ivo of Kermartin, priest on this date.
