The 2027 clock changes at a glance

In Europe, summer time runs from Sunday, March 28 to Sunday, October 31, 217 days. The tool above shows the 2027 dates for your own time zone; turn the year wheel to compare.

One hour less sleep, one hour more

The short night, 23 hours long, is the night of Saturday, March 13 in the US, and of Saturday, March 27 in Europe. The long nights, 25 hours, are those before November 7 in the US and October 31 in Europe. To get ready for the spring change, go to bed 15 minutes earlier for a few nights; the sleep calculator can help.

When the time gaps shift

North America and Europe don’t change on the same day. For 14 days in spring (March 14 to March 28) and 7 days in the fall (October 31 to November 7), New York is only 4 hours behind London and 5 behind Paris, instead of 5 and 6. Meetings and flights scheduled across the Atlantic move by an hour in those weeks; check them with the time zone converter.

2027, the latest possible dates

In 2027 the US changes land on the latest days the law allows: March 14 is the last possible “second Sunday in March”, and November 7 the last possible “first Sunday in November”. That makes the longest possible US daylight saving period, 238 days. In Europe, October 31 is also the latest possible “last Sunday in October”, so the extra hour falls on Halloween night.

Unless Congress and the President make daylight time permanent before then, these dates stand. In the European Union, nothing has changed the 2027 dates either: the Council of the EU has never agreed on a common position since the Parliament’s vote of 2019.
