The 2026 clock changes at a glance

In Europe, summer time runs from Sunday, March 29 to Sunday, October 25, 210 days. The tool above shows the 2026 dates for your own time zone; turn the year wheel to compare.

One hour less sleep, one hour more

The short night, 23 hours long, is the night of Saturday, March 7 in the US, and of Saturday, March 28 in Europe. The long nights, 25 hours, are those before November 1 in the US and October 25 in Europe. To get ready for the spring change, go to bed 15 minutes earlier for a few nights; the sleep calculator can help.

When the time gaps shift

North America and Europe don’t change on the same day. For 21 days in spring (March 8 to March 29) and 7 days in the fall (October 25 to November 1), New York is only 4 hours behind London and 5 behind Paris, instead of 5 and 6. Meetings and flights scheduled across the Atlantic move by an hour in those weeks; check them with the time zone converter.

2026, the year several places stopped

British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba sprang forward on March 8, 2026 for the last time: they now stay on daylight time all year, and did not fall back on November 1. Morocco went back to GMT for good on September 20, 2026, and Cuba skipped its November fall back to save electricity. In Washington, the House passed the Sunshine Protection Act on July 14, 2026, by 308 votes to 117; the Senate had not voted by November.

Two calendar quirks: November 1 is the earliest possible date for the US fall back, and October 25 the earliest possible date for Europe’s. Both come back only in 2037.

Other years: daylight saving time 2027, daylight saving time 2028. See the full year on the 2026 calendar, or go back to the next clock change.
