St. Margaret of Hungary, January 18
Daughter of King Béla IV, Margaret was promised to God before her birth and grew up in a Dominican convent. She refused a royal marriage and chose the hardest chores and the care of the sick. She died in 1270 at 28 and was canonized in 1943.
January 18 has no celebration on the General Roman Calendar, so this page follows the Roman Martyrology, which remembers Saint Margaret of Hungary, virgin on this date.
