St. Sergius of Radonezh, September 25
A Russian monk, Sergius (c. 1314-1392) founded the Trinity Monastery near Moscow, which became the spiritual heart of Russia. He blessed Prince Dmitry before the victory at Kulikovo in 1380. He is honored in both the Orthodox and Catholic Churches.
