St. Hugh of Grenoble, April 1
Bishop of Grenoble for over fifty years, Hugh (1053-1132) welcomed St. Bruno and his companions in 1084 and led them to the Chartreuse mountains, where the Carthusian order was born. He reformed his diocese and lived simply himself. He was canonized two years after his death.
April 1 has no celebration on the General Roman Calendar, so this page follows the Roman Martyrology, which remembers Saint Hugh, bishop of Grenoble on this date.
