St. Julius I, April 12
Pope from 337 to 352, Julius I welcomed St. Athanasius in Rome after the Arians drove him out of Alexandria. He defended the faith of the Council of Nicaea and built several churches in Rome. He is remembered on the day of his death.
April 12 has no celebration on the General Roman Calendar, so this page follows the Roman Martyrology, which remembers Saint Julius I, pope on this date.
