St. Walburga, February 25
An English nun, Walburga joined her brothers Willibald and Winnebald on the mission to Germany around 750. She became abbess of the double monastery of Heidenheim. She died in 779, and oil that seeps from her tomb at Eichstätt is still collected.
February 25 has no celebration on the General Roman Calendar, so this page follows the Roman Martyrology, which remembers Saint Walburga, abbess on this date.
