St. Gregory of Narek, February 27
An Armenian monk of the tenth century, Gregory wrote the Book of Lamentations, a long prayer still read in Armenian homes. Pope Francis named him a Doctor of the Church in 2015. His optional memorial joined the calendar in 2021.
On the General Roman Calendar, February 27 is an optional memorial: Saint Gregory of Narek, abbot and doctor.
