Oswald was bishop of Worcester and archbishop of York, and with St. Dunstan he led the revival of English monasteries in the tenth century. He washed the feet of twelve poor men every day. He died on February 29, 992, which makes him the saint of the leap day.
February 29 has no celebration on the General Roman Calendar, so this page follows the Roman Martyrology, which remembers Saint Oswald, bishop of Worcester on this date.
