Sts. Perpetua and Felicity, March 7
Perpetua, a young noblewoman nursing her baby, and Felicity, a pregnant slave, were arrested with other catechumens in Carthage and died together in the arena in 203. Perpetua kept a prison diary, one of the earliest texts by a Christian woman. Both are named in the Roman Canon.
On the General Roman Calendar, March 7 is a memorial: Saints Perpetua and Felicity, martyrs.
