St. Willibrord, November 7
An English monk trained in Ireland, Willibrord (c. 658-739) led a mission to the Frisians in 690. The pope made him the first bishop of Utrecht, and he founded the abbey of Echternach in Luxembourg. A dancing procession in his honor is held there every year.
November 7 has no celebration on the General Roman Calendar, so this page follows the Roman Martyrology, which remembers Saint Willibrord, bishop on this date.
