Bl. Fra Angelico, February 18
A Dominican friar from Tuscany, Fra Angelico (c. 1395-1455) painted the frescoes of the convent of San Marco in Florence, one for each friar’s cell. Pope John Paul II beatified him in 1982 and named him patron of artists. In France, St. Bernadette is remembered on this day.
February 18 has no celebration on the General Roman Calendar, so this page follows the Roman Martyrology, which remembers Blessed John of Fiesole (Fra Angelico), religious on this date.
