St. Elisha, June 14
A prophet of Israel in the ninth century before Christ, Elisha was the disciple and successor of Elijah and received his cloak when Elijah was taken up in a chariot of fire. The Books of Kings tell of his miracles, including the healing of Naaman the Syrian. He is honored by the Carmelites.
June 14 has no celebration on the General Roman Calendar, so this page follows the Roman Martyrology, which remembers Saint Elisha, prophet on this date.
