Most Holy Name of Mary, September 12
This feast honors the name of Mary, as January 3 honors the name of Jesus. Pope Innocent XI extended it to the whole Church after the victory over the Ottoman army at Vienna on September 12, 1683. It was restored to the calendar in 2002.
On the General Roman Calendar, September 12 is an optional memorial: The Most Holy Name of Mary.
