All Souls, November 2
The day after All Saints, the Church prays for all the dead. St. Odilo, abbot of Cluny, set this day for his monasteries around 998, and the custom spread everywhere. In Mexico it is part of the Día de los Muertos.
On November 2, the Church keeps The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed.

Keeping November 2
November 2 falls in November, the month the Church dedicates to praying for the dead. Since the general calendar has no celebration that day, the Mass is usually that of the weekday of the season, and the saint may be remembered in local calendars or in personal prayer. Families who keep name days often mark the day with a card, a candle or a favorite meal, and parishes named after the saint may hold a festival.
